LAM Sister's Reunion Weekend Pictures!

So I'm FINALLY getting around to posting pictures from our Life Action Girls Reunion Weekend. For those of you that don't have a clue what I'm talking about... I travelled for Three years with Life Action Ministries on the "Blue Team" (there were four teams at that time). (Bryan and I are still on staff with them at their Camp) We travelled ALL over the United States with other single college age people. During this time I made some LIFELONG bonds (Including meeting and marrying my hubby). But the bond that us girls made... living with each other 24/7 for 9 months out the year...some for all three years or just for one.. is something words can't explain.

So when Esty (and others) hatched the idea of a girls weekend I was excited to see some old friends that I haven't seen for MANY years!

It was a crazy, busy weekend with LOTS OF Food, Fun, and LAUGHTER! I was able to catch up with some dear friends and make some new ones (with those I didn't travel with).

Our first night we played several crazy games... One was we read 3 truths and 1 lie about the person to our right... we all then guessed which was the lie. SO FUNNY! SO CRAZY!

Thanks to Nathan for such a great job on the photos!

Blue Team Girls - we ROCK!

This is the WHOLE crew that came for the weekend... That's HAYDEN sitting in the chair. He didn't want me out of his sight (he'd already spent one day way from me and 1/2 of that day- I need to get out more!) He also DIDN'T want to smile - which of course made us all smile!

Red Team Girls

White Team Girls
Jan and Peggy - Good Friends and good friends of mine!

Peggy and ME! (It was REALLY windy - though you can't tell from anyone else's hair, but I DIDN'T do mine like that on purpose!)

Nathan did an amazing job - I have to share some individual pics he took of some of the girls... They are beautiful!

The other boys

I haven't posted much about my other boys lately with Hayden's birthday this past Monday... so let me do a little catch up...

Carter's been working hard on his letters. This was the day he wrote his letter "B". We really haven't made it much farther than that... but hey he's not in kindergarten yet... (Please ignore the Huge red stains on his shirt... our hard water did this and I'm at loss how to get it our with destroying the shirt... so I guess now it's a playshirt!)

Carter's also been a VERY good helper to daddy. He helped bring in some wood on the back porch on Saturday and has brought several loads into the house on his own this past week!

Wyatt's burn is doing much better! We no longer have to keep it wrapped! He actually did great when he did have it wrapped up. He still refers to it as his "HOT". The picture was taken last week so it looks even better now...not as reddish more the "normal" skin color!

Wyatt's really turned into a Daddy's boy... He gets so excited when Daddy comes home and tries to "help" him with all projects! This was taken tonight while Bryan was watching the Kentucky game and playing on his laptop!

Bryan's busy busy busy with building log furniture right now. (For those of you who don't know... Bryan has made our queen size log bed, our entertainment center, a side table, our computer table, a shoe hutch, plus a couch, dish return, and two chairs for the ministry we work for!) He's making 4 bunkbeds with twinsize on the top and queensize on the bottom. It's proving more challenging than he expected..(no surprise) But he's doing a GREAT job which is also no surprise! He's VERY good at this sort of thing! Carter was up helping him today by stripping bark off some of the logs for him... which Bryan said was a great help! Carter now wants to go to work with Bryan again tomorrow and "finish his job".

On quick word on Hayden... I took him for his 3 year check up yesterday! He's doing great in all the "normal" development stuff BUT I found out he is STILL fighting pneumonia!! I thought he still sounded rattley and wheezy! Pray he starts improving... also pray we don't get the stomach bug going around here. (3 of the children that came to Hayden's party on Monday have become sick with it the past 2 days! I feel like I'm waiting for a death sentence or something!)

Motherhood

OK I'm a bad mom! TWICE today Wyatt fell asleep in his jumpy seat! What can I say he LOVES the thing... so I put him in it. He doesn't usually fall asleep in it though! This first one ... he loves to lean back and watch the seat bounce... the second one... he fell asleep on the back porch after his bath while I was giving Carter and Hayden their baths. He's such a good baby! A little cranky today... teething, but so sweet and happy! Now for those past Life Action members... the picture was of Austin Herdklotz! Jonathan H. is now 16! It's crazy how quickly they grow up! Here's one of the pictures of around the camp... THE LODGE! Doesn't it look awesome! I'm hoping to post more in the coming days....if there's a spot you want to see let me know and I'll try to post it!

Pretzel night and Wyatt's trick!

Wyatt has a new "trick"! He's one "step" away from being forward-mobile. Today he was lifting himself up on his hands and toes... like a push-up! I tried to get a good picture, but it's still hard to tell that he's on his toes. It was so amazing! They really do grow up quickly!

Tonight was pretzel night... during Family Camp I mix the dough for the campers to roll out their pretzels then we bake them. It's so busy, but fun too! Nicole has been helping me... she's the Baker in the large convection ovens... anyway..she's done this for the past many years (I don't know the exact number. When she's not here Brian Holloway helps.) But she is leaving the road teams so this was her last pretzel night to help me! I'll miss her... she's a great worker and has such a sweet spirit! She always has a smile on her face too! Brian H won't be back for a couple more weeks so I guess I have to break-in a new "recruit" next week. It's not an easy job either... during the summer it's SOOO HOT in front of the convection oven with the oven fan blowing. Tonight we were blessed... it's been unseasonably cool today... only 63 degrees for a high! (not for long though Thursday is going to be 93 degrees!) All in all it's fun.. a change from the everyday! Back to my Nicole story... she made these funny signs ... Mine says "I MAKE THE DOUGH!" and hers says "WILL WORK FOR PRETZELS!" She's a BLAST! I told her I wanted an apron that says I make the dough so she made me a sign!
For those of you who travelled and spent many a summer up here... guess who this is? I'll tell you in my next post! I'll also try to post some pictures from around here so that you can see some of the MANY changes that have been made.... a big one being painting/landscaping the LODGE building... YEP! no more white walls and green trim!
