Baby it's cold outside.... REALLY COLD!!!!

Baby it's COLD outside... This icicle was on the side of our house!!!You can't have all the snow without having some fun... since we have A LOT of snow with more falling now we had to have some fun, fun, fun!!

A couple nights ago we decided it was time to start teaching Hayden to ski...Wyatt wanted to get in on the action...Then Carter and Bryan got creative and this happened...
Yep... that's Carter behind the gator.... Bryan got me to drive; so that he could ski too!!

It was late so we called it quits... for the time being....They had so much fun they recruited more "friends" the next day... and the next day.... and...

Notice the blur of snow falling.. it was coming down HARD when they were doing this!Carter decided to show off his snowboarding skills (this is his "play" snowboard... he's even better on his real one!)The boyz got skillz.... Hayden had a blast jumping in the snow...trying to walk around... 12 inches on the ground now..

I tried to get a photo of Wyatt "walking" in the snow... it was up to his thigh. His favorite thing was to free fall backwards into the snow!! He cracked up every time!!!

Judith and Joel joined us outside for the fun.. and a snowball fight!

It was a lot of fun, but OH so cold!!! We better buckle down it's going to be colder stillanother 6-12 inches expected by the end of the day... with -30 degree wind chills!

Upwards End of Season

Saturday was the last day of the Upwards Soccer season. It has been a great time, but it's also gotten really cold the past two weeks. Carter still had lots of fun! They introduced each player one-by-one and they ran through the "tunnel" of parents! It was really cute!

On Sunday night they had and end-of-season ceremony... There was a special speaker (local former sports anchor) and every child had their name called and got a nice sports bag. We got there early to get our seat... good thing it was packed. So the little boys entertained themselves running up and down the side isle... until more people started coming.

Soccer and Parades.... a great day!

Our church is hosting a soccer program this fall... Upward soccer has been a big hit!
This is the first time Carter has been able to play on an organized soccer team...
He LOVES it! This past Saturday was our local Apple Festival's parade. We (the boys and I) were able to be part of the parade. Carter road on one of the two Upward floats from our church.

Wyatt and I "walked" with our church in it... I walked He SLEPT the entire parade!

Our Church was numbers 97, 98, and 99 in the parade... just in front of these tractors.

I was so glad Wyatt got to see them since we weren't able to watch the parade.

(All these pictures - except the one of Wyatt sleeping which was DURING the parade - were taken in the 2 HOURS we waited for the parade to start!)

After the parade the boys and I made a stop at our local Dairy Queen!

YUM!!

Good thing too... they closed for the season yesterday!

THE big game!

The BIG game... Cubs vs Tigers (the best team in the "league").

We played out hearts out.. with amazing concentration...

Carter played well, but never made it to first base. He has played so well this season... but back to the game...

We actually started off VERY strong with 3 runs in during the first half of the first inning!
It was amazing! We were all screaming with joy... then they go up to bat!! We did hold them off to ONLY 10 runs the rest of the game!

At the end they awarded our team with our "participation trophies". Carter was soooo proud... We are too.. third place out of five isn't bad! He had a good time and learned a lot and made some new friends!

GREAT JOB CARTER WE ARE SOOOOOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!!

Little League playoffs vs the METS

This has been a VERY busy weekend! Full of BASEBALL!!

It was time for the PLAYOFFS!!!!!

Friday night we played vs the METS...

Carter was his usual amazing self in the outfield! As you can see he is SOOOOOO ready for major league! I don't know why we even worry with Little League he is so obviously far advanced for this that it bores him! ;)

Oh, by the way there was NO BALL ANYWHERE around him... maybe he was just practicing for when the ball REALLY did come his way.. but no THEN he just looked at it!

Carter LOVES to SLIDE... even if there is NO REASON TO!

Great game guys! We won 10-5 and played the TIGERS on Saturday afternoon.

Monday Moment - It's all about the BOYS

Major League - Maybe not yet!

Carter's opening day for Little League was today! Please stay with me since this is our first organized activity... and I'm a proud momma! LOTS of pictures Sorry :)

Our day started early with an opening day parade... Carter had such a blast... although he says it was a LONG walk! (They walked about 1 mile. Carter runs that in 5 minutes when he's outside... at least it seems like it. BUT today... it was a LONG WALK!)

At the end of the parade was opening ceremony!

He was so excited that Grandpa and Grandma were able to see him!

I think we couldn't wipe the smile off all day!

We headed back home for the hour-and-a-half before his game.(and to pick up daddy and the other two boys).

This has been a little hard for daddy to swallow since Carter is a CUB! Bryan is a Cincinnati Reds fan. (both our neighbors like the Cubs). After a few pictures at home its...

GAME TIME!!

Carter is the youngest player on his team. (5 years old - all the others are 6-9 years old) Plus this is his first year playing... so guess his position! OUTFIELD (they move him from left to right since they are required to switch up positions) He HAD a lot of excitement at the start,

but that soon died!

He did great at bat though...They use a pitching machine. All 5-6 year olds get 5 pitches.

His second at bat he had a major HIT. (not on the first pitch... but he made it to first... After the next batter he then went on to second... Next batter he was chased down at third. I do mean CHASED... He ran ... like in tag. It was so funny!)

His team lost 12 to 3, but I was so proud that BOTH times he was at bat he HIT the ball! (not bad for the youngest player and his first year!)

What did the other two do while Carter played baseball. They cheered, climbed on Grandpa/Grandma, whined, took pictures...

(I didn't know Wyatt's nose was so nasty... so I took another one)

ate almost a WHOLE box of Cheez-its, climbed on the bleachers, climbed under the bleachers, made new friends, made new enemies (just kidding), played in the dirt, whined more, climbed, ate Cheez-its again and then cheered more for Carter.

That's WITH my parents here to help... I can't think what the other 18 games without them here will be like! (they will be here for 3 more of his games. He plays sometimes 3 a week!! Crazy! The whole season is only 6 weeks long! We may not survive!)

I PROMISE not to be so long winded on his next 21 games! (Well maybe a photo or two!)
